Rajya Sabha debates Lokpal Bill, SP walks out

The Samajwadi Party (SP) today walked out of the Rajya Sabha protesting against the Lokpal bill, saying that the legislation is not in the public interest. Opposing the bill in the upper house, SP leader Ramgopal Yadav said the Lokpal bill will take the country towards a state of indecision as all would be afraid of the Lokpal.The Lokpal Bill has been taken up for consideration in Rajya Sabha after it was introduced by law minister Kapil Sibal. Leader of opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley while supporting the bill, asked for a rethink over the jurisdiction of Lokpal.
