Among the components of the BSE Capital Goods index, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (down 8.95%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd (down 6.45%),NBCC (India) Ltd (down 5.56%),Grindwell Norton Ltd (down 4.21%),Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (down 4.13%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Timken India Ltd (down 4.13%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 4.02%), Elgi Equipments Ltd (down 3.93%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (down 3.87%), and Praj Industries Ltd (down 3.51%).
On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd (up 0.28%), moved up.
At 13:47 IST, the BSE SmallCap was down 1808.76 or 3.25% at 53840.2.
The BSE 150 MidCap Index index was down 312.28 points or 1.92% at 15954.
The Nifty 50 index was down 189.1 points or 0.76% at 24592.
The BSE Sensex index was down 540.6 points or 0.67% at 80610.67.
On BSE,552 shares were trading in green, 3367 were trading in red and 99 were unchanged.
