  • Capitalization stock The sum of a company's capital, long-term debt, and retained earnings.
  • Cash commodity The actual physical product on which a futures contract is based. This product can include agricultural commodities, financial instruments and the cash equivalents of index futures.
  • Cash cycle The length of time from the actual outlay of cash for purchase until the collection of receivables resulting from the sale of goods or services.
  • Cash dividend Cash distribution of earning to stockholders usually on a quarterly basis.
  • Cash Market The market in the underlying instrument.
  • Cash settlement In the case of index options contracts where it is impossible or impractical to effect physical delivery, open positions are closed out on the day of exercise or the last day of trading at a price determined by the underlying index level.
