Jagadish Shivappa Shettar, Bhartiya Janata Party's legislative party leader will be sworn in as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka today, 12 July 2012. He will be administered the oath of office and secrecy by the State's Governor HR Bhardwaj.

The BJP legislature party of the state unanimously selected Shettar as their new leader on Tuesday, 10 July 20012 after Sadananada Gowda resigned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka after a tenure of 11 months.
