The by-election will be held on 11 July 2012 to fill a vacancy that has occurred from 40-Dasuya Assembly Constituency in the State of Punjab
The Election Commission (EC) of India has announced the schedule for by-elections to fill the casual vacancy in the Assembly Constituency in the State of Punjab.
A press note released by the EC stated that a vacancy has occurred from 40-Dasuya Assembly Constituency in the State of Punjab, which needs to be filled up. After taking into consideration various factors like, festivals, electoral rolls etc., the Commission has decided to hold by-election to fill this vacancy.
The Commission will issue the notification for the above said by-election on Saturday, 16 June 2012 and the last date of making notifications is Saturday, 23 June 2012. The voting will be held on Wednesday, 11 July 2012 from 8 am to 5 pm and the votes will be counted on Saturday, 14 July 2012.
