Nationwide protest called by the major political parties would hit the normal life of the people all over India
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Left Parties have called for a national wide bandh today, 31 May 2012 to protest against the recent steep petrol price hike.
Most of the major political parties in India will join together and coordinate agitations demanding roll back of the steep increase in the price of petrol. BJP along with its alliances, Left Parties- CPI (M), MCPI, CPI (ML-New Democracy), CPI (ML-Liberation) and other non-congress parties will take part in this national wide protest.
The recent petrol price hike is the steepest ever at Rs 6.28 plus local taxes and therefore there is a demand for roll back of the prices. The Bharat Bandh is expected to hit the normal life of the people all over India.
