The Election Commission (EC) of India has announced biennial election to the Karnataka legislative council by the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs).
The commission has decided to hold the election to fill up the vacancies of 11 members of the Karnataka Legislative Council, elected by the members of the legislative assembly, as their term of office is going to expire on 17 June 2012.
The notification for the above said biennial election will be issued on Friday, 25 May 2012 and the polling will be held on Monday, 11 June 2012 from 9am to 4pm. The votes will be counted on the same day of polling at 5pm.
