The Biennial Election will be held on 3 May 2012, Thursday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and the counting of votes will also be held on the same day at 5.00 pm
The Election Commission (EC) of India has decided to hold Biennial Election to the Council of States from Jharkhand for the purpose of filling the vacancies.
The term of office of two members of the Council of States elected from the State of Jharkhand was to expire on 2 April 2012 due to the retirement of Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia and Mabel Rebello.
The aforesaid Biennial Election will be held on 3 May 2012, Thursday from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm and the counting of votes will also be held on the same day at 5.00 pm. The notification for the said Biennial Election will be issued on 16 April 2012.
