More than 1.70 lakh electorates are expected to decide the fate of 862 candidates in the fray in today's election
The first phase of polling for Uttar Pradesh's 55 assembly constituencies began today, 8 February 2012 amidst heavy security. The polling started at 7 am and will end at 5 pm, today.
More than 1.70 lakh electorates are expected to decide the fate of 862 candidates in the fray in today's election. The last phase of the election will be held on 3 March 2012 and the votes will be counted on 6 March 2012.
The seven phased Uttar Pradesh election is vital for every major political parties such as Congress led United Progressive Alliance (UPA), Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP).
