Voting for the General Elections 2012 has begun in Manipur, today, 28 January 2012. The polling begun in 60 assembly constituencies at 7 am amidst tight security and will end at 4 pm, today.
A electorate of 1750304 comprising 858390 males and 891914 females are eligible to exercise their franchise in today's election to select their representatives from the 279 candidates, which includes 15 female candidates. The voting will take place in about 2357 polling stations across nine districts in Manipur.
