IMCT, lead by Ministry of Home Affairs is to visit shortly in consultation with the Governments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu

Govt constitutes Inter-Ministerial Central Team for Assessment of Situation in Wake of Cyclonic Storm 'Thane'

An Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) was constituted by the Government on 5 January 2012 for on-the-spot assessment of the situation in the wake of Cyclonic storm 'Thane' in the Union Territory of Puducherry and State of Tamil Nadu during December, 2011.

IMCT, lead by Ministry of Home Affairs, consist of the representatives from the Ministries/ Departments of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Dairying (Fisheries), Drinking Water, Finance (Department of Expenditure), Health, Power, Road Transport & Highways, Rural Development, Water Resources and Planning Commission. National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) will also be represented in the Team.

The Team is to visit shortly in consultation with the Governments of Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.
