In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index surged 358.60 points or 1.60% to 22,721.95.
The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, retreated 7.43%.
Vodafone Idea Ltd, Yes Bank Ltd and Suzlon Energy Ltd were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.
The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
