Cochin Shipyard Ltd consolidated sales down 26.28% on year in Q2FY2026, net profit witnessed a sharp fall of 45.22%

Cochin Shipyard Ltd share price declined by 0.40% to Rs 1495.0 after the company's net profit tumbled by 45.22% to Rs 151.45 crore, while revenue from operations plunged by 26.28% to Rs 1094.21 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of Ship Building & Allied Services industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 1.52 lakh crore, crashing by 26.99%. It has improved by 0.82% over last one week and ticked higher by 2.74% in last one month while the market capitalization of Cochin Shipyard Ltd has softened by 1.19% and 6.28% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of Cochin Shipyard Ltd stood at Rs 202.49 crore in Q2 FY26, tumbling by 18.85% year-on-year, and plunging by 49.70% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 126 crore, nosediving by 32.56% YoY and tanking 17.39% sequentially. Total expenses saw a steep drop of 22.64% to Rs 933.41 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 453.26 crore, slumping by 36.98% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 127.07 crore, slipping by 0.76% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations jumped by 25.83% to Rs 4819.96 crore, while net profit saw a mild growth of 5.62% to Rs 827.33 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA surged by 58600% to Rs 488.79 crore, and PBT inched up 5.06% to Rs 1125.17 crore compared to previous TTM. The company's consolidated net cash flow from operating activities stood at Rs 284.21 crore in FY26, as against Rs 171.59 crore in FY25. Cochin Shipyard Ltd nosedived by 10.83% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has softened by 3.05% during the same period.
