Bengal & Assam Company Ltd share price gained 0.15% to Rs 6214.5 after the company's net profit surged by 168.92% to Rs 69.14 crore, while revenue from operations improved marginally 0.44% to Rs 632.96 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of Non Banking Financial Company (NBFC) industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 17.12 lakh crore, gaining 6.38%. Profit before tax (PBT) of Bengal & Assam Company Ltd stood at Rs 94.95 crore in Q2 FY26, declining 4.31% year-on-year, and expanding by 115.60% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 61 crore, rising 0.10% YoY and jumping 194.27% sequentially. Total expenses slightly declined by 7.14% to Rs 563.01 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 242.31 crore, contracting by 18.03% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 85.08 crore, soaring 26.44% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations slumped by 83.53% to Rs 2127.9 crore, while net profit tanked by 91.37% to Rs 299.18 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA witnessed a strong improvement of 112673% to Rs 258.45 crore, and PBT collapsed by 90.26% to Rs 400.21 crore compared to previous TTM. Bengal & Assam Company Ltd tumbled by 22.42% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has softened by 2.83% during the same period.
