General Insurance Corporation of India consolidated sales up 11.95% on year in Q2FY2026

General Insurance Corporation of India share price declined by 0.07% to Rs 355.5 after the company's net profit plunged by 31.85% to Rs 1620.94 crore, while revenue from operations edged up 11.95% to Rs 11097.77 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of General Insurance industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 2.59 lakh crore, gaining 4.56%. It has eased by 0.85% over last one week and dipped slightly by 4.49% in last one month while the market capitalization of General Insurance Corporation of India has softened by 0.97% and 8.07% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of General Insurance Corporation of India stood at Rs 2191.78 crore in Q2 FY26, crashing by 17.72% year-on-year, and tanking 29.47% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 1849 crore, tumbling by 27.38% YoY and easing 1.75% sequentially. Total expenses went up by 17.29% to Rs 12380.39 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, employee benefits expense was at Rs 87.89 crore, jumping 71.83% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations posted a slight growth of 8.92% to Rs 36711.83 crore, while net profit inched up 7.16% to Rs 6973.96 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA surged by 699338% to Rs 8455.84 crore, and PBT expanded by 14.89% to Rs 9104.64 crore compared to previous TTM. General Insurance Corporation of India crashed 9.91% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has slipped by 2.83% during the same period.
