Vedanta Resources releases encumbrances on over 2.1 billion shares following debt repayment

Vedanta Resources Limited announced the release of encumbrances on equity shares held by various entities, including Twin Star Holdings Limited, Vedanta Holdings Mauritius Limited, and Vedanta Holdings Mauritius II Limited, as of August 7, 2026, following the repayment of a US$500 million facility agreement. The release affects a total of 2,139,651,763 shares, representing approximately 54.72% of Vedanta Limited's outstanding equity. Additionally, all encumbrances on the equity shares of four demerged entities – Vedanta Aluminium Metal Limited, Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited, Vedanta Power Limited, and Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited – have also been released.
