Star Cement Ltd consolidated sales down 19.65% on year in Q2FY2026, net profit tanked by 49.73%

Star Cement Ltd share price softened by 0.78% to Rs 203.25 after the company's net profit tumbled by 49.73% to Rs 73.91 crore, while revenue from operations reduced 19.65% to Rs 942.89 crore in Q2FY26 over Q1FY26. The market capitalization of Cement & Cement Products industry group stocks on BSE stood at Rs 9.83 lakh crore, rising 2.44%. It has inched up 1.24% over last one week and ticked higher by 1.15% in last one month while the market capitalization of Star Cement Ltd has improved by 0.17% and 14.06% in the same period respectively. Profit before tax (PBT) of Star Cement Ltd stood at Rs 97.52 crore in Q2 FY26, tanking 27.58% year-on-year, and plunging by 52.84% quarter-on-quarter. EBITDA came in at Rs 186 crore, crashing by 17.73% YoY and nosediving by 39.11% sequentially. Total expenses dropped by 12.26% to Rs 839.82 crore in Q2FY26 over Q2FY25. During the quarter, cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 132.15 crore, marginally falling by 8.74% YoY, while employee benefits expense was at Rs 77.4 crore, jumping 12.17% YoY. For the TTM ended FY26, revenue from operations inched higher 8.68% to Rs 3163.39 crore, while net profit plunged by 42.79% to Rs 168.82 crore, compared to previous TTM. EBITDA surged by 71416% to Rs 568.07 crore, and PBT collapsed by 46.72% to Rs 225.67 crore compared to previous TTM. The company's consolidated net cash flow from operating activities stood at Rs 296.47 crore in FY26, as against Rs 489.75 crore in FY25. Star Cement Ltd crashed 22.91% in last one year, underperforming the benchmark BSE Sensex which has eased by 1.97% during the same period.
