IEX sees 7.7% rise in July electricity volume to 13,527 MUs year-on-year

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) recorded a monthly electricity traded volume of 13,527 megawatt-hours (MUs) in July 2026, a 7.7% increase year-on-year, according to a media release. The Real-Time Market volume increased to 5,631 MUs in July 2026, from 5,109 MUs in July 2025, registering an increase of 10.2% year-on-year, while the Day-Ahead Market volume declined by 7.7% year-on-year to 5,087 MUs. A total of 7.11 lakh Renewable Energy Certificates were traded during the month, though REC volumes declined 56.3% year-on-year.
