J. K. Cement invests Rs 49 crore in Mehrauni Electro Power for solar power supply

J. K. Cement Limited announced it will invest Rs 49,08,75,000 to subscribe to 49,08,750 equity shares of Mehrauni Electro Power Private Limited, representing 18.31% of the SPV's equity share capital post-allotment, according to a regulatory filing on Friday. The investment, made pursuant to a shareholder subscription agreement, strengthens the company’s long-term renewable energy strategy and is linked to a Power Purchase Agreement for supplying solar power to J. K. Cement’s Prayagraj plant. Mehrauni Electro Power Private Limited, incorporated in 2023, is establishing a 40 MW AC capacity solar power plant in Uttar Pradesh.
