Mutual Funds - Reports
Nippon India Mutual Fund has announced the launch of the Nippon India Active Momentum Fund, an open-ended equity scheme focused on long-term capital appreciation. The fund will invest in a diversified portfolio of equity and equity-related instruments, utilizing a momentum-based strategy to identify and invest in high-performing stocks.
The NFO is currently open for subscription and will close on February 24th, reopening for continuous sale and repurchase on March 6th. The minimum investment during the NFO is Rs 500, with subsequent investments allowed in multiples of Re 1. The fund's benchmark is the Nifty 500 TRI. Ashutosh Bhargava and Kinjal Desai will serve as the fund managers.
The fund offers both direct and regular plans, each with growth and income distribution cum capital withdrawal options. A 1% exit load applies if units are redeemed or switched out within one year of allotment; after one year, there is no exit load.
The Nippon India Active Momentum Fund employs a multi-factor quantitative model designed to identify high-potential investment opportunities while managing volatility and adapting to market cycles. This model integrates price momentum with earnings revisions, combining technical and fundamental analysis to optimize returns. This approach aims to capitalize on market trends while incorporating insights into earnings growth.
The fund also utilizes a Risk ON and Risk OFF framework. In Risk ON phases, the fund incorporates the Beta factor alongside momentum to enhance upside potential. During Risk OFF phases, it prioritizes minimum volatility to mitigate risk and stabilize performance. The portfolio is rebalanced monthly to dynamically adapt to market changes.
Further, the fund may incorporate factors like Minimum Volatility and Beta to potentially reduce risk during market downturns and enhance returns during uptrends, offering investors access to momentum strategies with potentially reduced volatility. The fund strategy aims to blend market trends (price momentum) with expert insights (earnings revisions), effectively combining technical and fundamental factors.
