NSE India VIX soared 11.10% as shares dropped.

Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 21,587, a premium of 15.05 points compared with the Nifty's closing 21,571.95 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 lost 460.35 points or 2.09 % to 21,571.95.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, surged 11.10% to 15.08.

HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
