Nifty January futures trade at discount

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 22,023.15, a discount of 9.15 points compared with the Nifty's closing 22,032.30 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 lost 65.15 points or 0.29% to 22,032.30.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, declined 1.81% to 13.54.

HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries (RIL) and ICICI Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
