NSE India VIX surged 7.06% as shares tumbled.

Nifty January futures trade at premium

The Nifty January 2024 futures closed at 21,569.95, a premium of 56.95 points compared with the Nifty's closing 21,513 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 slipped 197.80 points or 0.91% to 21,513.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of market's expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 7.06% to 13.52.

Bandhan Bank, Infosys and Reliance Industries were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE.

The January 2024 F&O contracts will expire on 25 January 2024.
