A

• AGMARK Agricultural Marking.
• Allocation In case of book built issues, the basis of allotment is finalized by the Book Running lead Managers within 2 weeks from the date of closure of the issue.  
• Alpha Alpha measures the performance of fund managers .If alpha is positive it means that fund manager is able to generate excess returns compared to expected return. If alpha is negative fund manager is under performing.  
• Alpha It is the coefficient measuring the risk-adjusted performance, considering the risks that are specific to the security, rather than the overall market. A large alpha indicates that the stock has performed better what would be predicted given its volatility.
• American-Style of Exercise An option, which may be exercised on any Trading Day prior to expiry.
• Annualized Return This refers to the return that a fund can generate within a period of one year. For the fund whose returns are not available for one year, the returns of the fund can be annualized. Annualised returns are widely used to measure the performance of a fund.  
• Arbitrage Simultaneous buying and selling of the same asset in different markets in order to capitalize on variations in price between those markets .
• Ask price Lowest price at which a dealer is willing to sell a commodity.
• Assayer Assayer is an authorized entity (person/institution) that certifies and grades the commodities that are delivered in exchange accredited warehouses.
• Asset Allocation Asset Allocation involves the allocation of the total corpus or fund available with the Mutual Funds to different class of assets like equities, bonds, derivatives etc. The asset allocation is done in keeping the objective of the scheme into consideration.
